Our August 2017 Box
“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.” Darwin
As we kiss goodbye to August we head into Autumn and one of my favourite months of the year – September.
I always feel incredibly reinvigorated this time of year after some welcome sunshine, a refreshing holiday (or two) and the new silence that emanates at home when the kids go back to school.
September is the perfect month to stop, reflect and take stock. If you’re like me I begin each year with a few goals in mind and September is a wonderful time to check back in with them. How far have I come? Am I still on track? Do I need to adjust my course? Are they even still relevant?
Perhaps this month you could carve out time for yourself to think about some positive changes you could make in the final months of 2017. Learn a new skill, take up an exciting hobby or get into great shape, whatever it is go at it with gusto because we’re never too old to do something new.
This month our teas should give you some energy and bring clarity of mind:
Minty Grass – This potent tea is a blend of peppermint and lemon grass. Enjoy this tea after your evening meal to aid digestion. Lemon grass is a good source of vitamins A and C, folate, folic acid, magnesium, zinc, copper, iron, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and manganese. Perfect then for strengthening your immune system in time for the colder months ahead.
Authentic Dark Chai – A real hug in a cup. A powerful blend of black tea, herbs and spices, chai has been cherished for centuries in India to preserve health and increase peace of mind. But, the more we learn about chai, the more benefits we find. In addition to improving digestion, chai enhances the immune system, fights inflammation and has antioxidant properties.
Hojicha Green - Hojicha is a roasted green tea from Japan made from Bancha leaves - the summer crop of Sencha consisting of coarser leaves and stems. The high heat treatment diminishes tannins and caffeine in the leaves, making Hojicha an excellent tea for evenings and those sensitive to caffeine. Toasty nutty flavour is easy to pair with food (you will often find Hojicha on Japanese restaurant menus). This tea is warming and soothing, a real comfort drink for any time of the day.
To help you get a head start on your new changes head over to our Free Online Tea Academy and join the hundreds of people learning about tea and gaining the BRUU Tea Accreditation.
Have a great September and if you want to continue the conversation come and say hello on our Facebook or Twitter profiles.
